SSP Rao Anwar transferred for 'exceeding powers'

SSP Rao Anwar on Thursday evening held a media talk leveling serious allegations some against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Following his controversial media talk, CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah took notice of it and directed the IG Sindh to investigate the matter and present an inquiry report to him.

However, SSP Rao Anwar has now been transferred from district Malir.

A spokesperson with the Sindh Police told that the SSP has been directed to report to the CPO Office.

“Anwar exceeded from his powers and misused the authority,” he added.

Our correspondent Salman Lodhi reported that SSP East Pir Muhammad Shah has been given the additional charge of SSP Malir, in place of Anwar.
