Supreme Court dismisses petition against drone attacks

Petitioner Iqtidar Haider in his petition said that the tribal areas are part of Pakistani territory and it is the responsibility of the air force to defend it.

Three-member bench of the apex court heard the petition.

Justice Saqib Nisar in his remarks said that the petition against drone strikes does not come in the ambit of the clause iii of Article 184 of the constitution. “How can the court order war to stop drone attacks?”

Later, the bench dismissed the petition against drone strikes in the tribal region.
