KARACHI: A man suspected of involvement in swindling and threatening people through fake cases was arrested on Friday from Metroville area in Karachi., ARY News reported.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Shaukat Khatian said police had arrived at the SITE area, Metroville, to arrest the prime suspect Nizamuddin.
He was involved in injuring himself or any of his family members and then registering a first information report against somebody from whom he sought money.
One such victim had died of cardiac arrest two months ago as the police arrived at his home in Karachi to arrest him.
Nizamuddin had also filed a case against two people for attempted murder, Shaukat Khatian said.
The SSP said during investigation it was revealed that the suspect had lodged cases against 25 people.
“He would take money from people after lodging an FIR against them,” he said.
Police said Nizamuddin and his family were involved in this business since 2014.

On April 3, police had registered an FIR of a robbery bid at Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Ali Muhammad Mahar’s residence in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The police had lodged the case on a complaint of Mahar’s servant against ten unidentified armed men under sections related to robbery and extending life threats.
According to the content of the FIR, eight to ten armed men had broken into the minister’s residence and held the family members hostage. They looted valuables, including five mobile phones, and five tola of gold.
