Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, has put to rest all speculation about what he calls ‘Azadi March’ announcing that the march to oust the government date October 27 against rigging in 2018 General Elections.
The JUI-F chief said that all opposition parties had rejected the July 25, 2018 general elections and had called for fresh elections. “In this regard, the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal have carried out 15 ‘million marches’ in the country to raise awareness among the people,”
Fazl ur Rehman also stated that “Our strategy will not remain stagnant. We will keep changing it to cope with any situation,” he said. He insisted that a “flood of people from all over the country” was coming to join the march and the “fake rulers will drown in it like a straw”.
The close aide to Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that JUI-F did not want to derail the democratic process through the Azadi March.
The strategy of JUI-F is to mass maximum number of people in Islamabad and stay there till the resignation of prime minister. Massive mobilization drive to motivate workers for the march is underway and roughly 80,000 volunteers dressed in light-brown color will be deployed for security and to facilitate marchers in Islamabad.
