Box Office

Box office also know as ticket office is a place where tickets are sold to public for an event. The Term “Box Office” is mostly used in film industry. The business can be measured in the terms of the numbers of the ticket sold or the amount of money raised by the ticket sales.

Films with huge business are normally known as box office bombs. The success of a movie is dependent on its tickets collection.

The collection is measured when the ticket is sold its digital record is then calculated by the organization called “rentrak”. Rentrak has a centralized database management system which is connected to all the ticket offices within and outside the country.

Sometimes international records get delayed due to manual record keeping ticket offices. These collection of records are used to calculate the over-all business of a movie in box office. Mostly these reports are generated weekly and we are able to see the records on weekend.
