Chief Election Commissioner

Chief election commissioner (CEC) appointed by the president of the state. Former supreme court judge, civil servant or a technocrat is eligible for the position of chief, not more than 68 years of age.

For choosing a perfect and deserving candidate for the position Prime Minister will consulate with the leader of the opposition in the national assembly will forward three names for the appointment to the parliamentary committee for the discussion and selecting a candidate for the position.

The committee constituted by the speaker of the national assembly comprising 50% members form the ruling one and half from the opposition. After the selection of the candidate the chief election commissioner powers and functions are implemented on him according to the constitution law of Pakistan.
