Election 2018

Election 2018 as democracy passes through a transitional phase in Pakistan, it faces many challenges; the stakes are high and so are the expectations. Even though the next Elections are due in mid 2018 the political landscape is such that the stakeholders already seem to be campaigning for one. The year 2013 marked a significant milestone in the history of Pakistan as for the first time democratically elected government of Pakistan People’s Party transferred the power to the newly elected government of Pakistan Muslim League. The elections 2013 have been contested on the slogans like; corruption, governance, economy, and ownership of war on terror, energy crises and change (New Pakistan) .which we are not excepting Election 2018. According to the unofficial results, so far N PML (N) won 125 National Assembly seats; PPP party went from first to second position and won 32 seats. Whereas, PTI Imran Khan emerged as third largest party after wining 31 National Assembly seats. The national assembly of Pakistan comprises of 342 seats out of which 148 are for Punjab, 61 for Sindh, 35 for KPK and 14 for Baluchistan.
