Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi:

Shah Mehmood Qureshi was Born on the 22 of June 1956 in the northern city of Murree. He has a place with a persuasive pir family that is outstanding in politics in Pakistan. His late father was the friend of Gen Zia-ul-Haq how appointed him the Governor of Punjab in mid 80’s when General Zia-ul-Haq was the President of Pakistan.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi in 1985 contest his first general elections and elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from Multan. He joined the Paksitan Muslim League (PML) in 1986, Later he had gone for PML-N headed by Nawaz Sharif. Later on in 1988 Pakistan General Elections Qureshi again won the Provincial Assembly Punjab for the second time from his Multan Constituency and elected as the Minister of Planning and Development in the Provincial Punjab Cabinet.

Later in 1990 he won the General Elections of Pakistan and become the Minister of Finance in the government of Chief Minister Manzoor Wattoo. Nawaz Sharif refuse to give National Assembly ticket to him, he then join the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and was elected for the National Assembly of Pakistan for the first time in 1993 he became minister of state for parliamentary affairs under PM Benazir Bhutto.

Qureshi had an opportunity to join Pervaiz Musharif and join the council of economic advisers which he refused.  Shah Mahmood Qureshi also had served the Mayor of Multan from 2000 – 2004. After 2002 General Elections he defeated Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and again made his way towards National Assembly. In 2006 Benazir Bhutto appointed him the president of Pakistan people party Punjab. After the General Elections of 2008 he was appointed the Foreign Minister of Pakistan under the government of Former Prime Minsiter Yousaf Raza Gillani.

Later in 2011 Shah Mehmood Qureshi have joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). He was also appointed as the first vice president of PTI. Now he is serving as the Foreign minter of Pakistan after he has won General Elections of 2018 on the ticket of PTI and was headed towards the National Assembly of Pakistan.
