Karachi Central Jail

Karachi central jail also known as the central prison of Karachi located in Karachi city capital of Sindh province. The central jail consists of all kind of prisoners included the convicted terrorist. During the independence there were only five prisoners in the province and included twenty more after the independence.

Karachi central jail can host 4,800 prisoners at a time, the jail is further divided into three categories A, B and C central prison was established in 1899. Due to higher crime rate and conviction more than 10,000 prisoners are being held in Karachi central jail and district Malir jail.

The jail is Govern by the provincial government and local police of the city. provincial government looks after all the security measures and facilities provided to the convicted prisoners. Recently the jail has been renovated due to security measures security surveillance has been upgraded with modern technology.
