physical remand

When an accused is sent to police custody by magistrate is known as physical remand. While the accused is in physical remand investigation is being carried out which is to be complete till due date if the investigation is pending or being delayed due to some reason the police will present the accused in the court with the application of police remand.

The remand can only be specified when existence of accused is undeniably compulsory for the accomplishment of inquiry. Period or police remand should be short to short. According to the constitution of Pakistan police remand can be given by area magistrate or in his absence it can be given by duty magistrate.
