resignation

A resignation is a formal act of giving up or quitting one’s office on position. the volunteer stand down can occur when a person holding a position gained by election or appointments steps down but leaving the position upon the expiration of a term is not considered resignation.

When an employee chooses to leave an existing position it is considered a resignation as opposed to volunteer termination which occurs when employee volunteer loses a job. There is always a topic of dispute behind the stepping down or termination. It a personal decision to exit a position though outside pressure exist in many cases.
