Terrorist killed, two security personnel injured in DG Khan shootout: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: A terrorist was killed while other got injured in exchange of fire with security forces in DG Khan, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

According to ISPR, Pakistan Rangers Punjab met an encounter with the terrorists, who fired over them during patrolling in the area.

“A terrorists was killed, another got injured in the shootout with the personnel of Punjab Rangers,” reads statement of ISPR.

However, two security personnel namely, Colonel Ayub and Sepoy Rehan, were injured in exchange of fire.

Earlier in the month of September, four terrorists were killed and two soldiers martyred during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces against a group of terrorists hiding in Manghochar area of Kalat, according to  Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Two suicide jackets, large quantity of explosives and weapons and ammunition were also recovered.

The IBO was carried out as part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.

In February 2017, Pakistan Army had launched a counter-terror operation named ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country and hundreds of militants have surrendered and several were killed after the operation was initiated.

The operation was aimed at indiscriminately eliminating residual and latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders.

The military had said “the country wide de-weaponisation and explosive control were additional cardinals of the effort. The statement also highlighted that pursuance of the National Action Plan, which was formulated after Peshawar school attack in 2014, will be the hallmark of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
