AIG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo while citing security concerns for general citizens of Karachi proposed in the letter that specific locations shall be allotted for public rallies and gatherings.
Police Chief suggested Jinnah Ground in District East, Star Ground in District Malir, Annu Bhai Park for District Central, Jahangir Park for District South and KMC Ground as the venues to be allotted for public gatherings across the city.
AIG Karachi was of the view that the public gatherings organized by religious and political parties heighten the threat to the lives of citizens in Karachi.
It must be noted that the PTI and MQM are expected to hold rallies during their election campaign for upcoming by-polls in National Assembly constituency NA-246 in the city.
