‘I don’t know any MQM-London’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan on Tuesday said that there is only on MQM operating in the country which is MQM-Pakistan and he does not know any MQM-London, ARY News reported.

Speaking exclusively to ARY News, Izhar claimed that after dissociating itself from Altaf Hussain, MQM-Pakistan has emerged as an independent political party.

“I don’t know any party named MQM-London,” Izhar said while answering a question.

When asked about London-based leaders like Nadeem Nusrat’s political standing, the MQM-Pakistan leader said “they were a part of MQM”.

‘No vacancy in MQM’

Denying once again, any political merger with

former President General retired Pervez Musharraf, Izhar maintained that “there is no vacancy in MQM Pakistan and even if there will be one, it will be filled internally from within MQM”.

“Even in my meeting with Musharraf, I felt that some of his close aides failed to make APML a successful party, so they tried to give impression that there is a vacancy in MQM,” said Khawaja Izhar.

He, however, maintained that the party respects General Musharraf for his support and the work he did for Karachi.
