Three injured in unprovoked Indian firing at LoC

RAWALPINDI: At least three people were injured when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir on Thursday morning, ARY News reported.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s media wing, said that Indian troops opened fire at Battal, Jandrot and Hotspring sectors this morning, leaving three civilians injured. Pakistani forces effectively responded to the firing and targeted the security posts of Indian troops involved in the firing, it added.

The local police claimed that two civilians were killed while five others wounded when Indian forces targeted the civilian areas along the restive LoC.

The deceased hailed from Mandhol and Hotspring areas.

Given the strained bilateral relations between Pakistan and India owing to contentious issues, including held Kashmir, the ceasefire violations by Indian troops have become order of the day as they continue to target civilian population on this side of the LoC.
