Three outlaws among 88 criminals arrested in Kohat

KOHAT: The police claimed to have arrested 88 criminals, including three proclaimed offenders, from several areas of Kohat city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported on Saturday.

According to details, the city police conducted a search and strike operation in the sensitive areas of Kohat, arresting 88 criminals including three proclaimed offenders and right facilitators.

Sources told ARY News that the raiding teams also recovered a huge amount of drugs and arms and ammunitions from the possession of arrested suspect.

The weapons recovered included two Kalashnikovs, a repeater, a rifle, five pistols and hundreds of cartridges. During the search operation, the raiding team recovered almost six kilogrammes of hashish,

The search operation was conducted in the sensitive areas of Kohat, including Mian Gan Colony, Noor Elahi Colony, Akbarabad and Dhal Behzadi district.

A heavy contingent of police, elite forces and station house officers (SHOs) of local police stations participated in the targeted search operation. The arrested suspects were transferred to the Mohammad Riaz Shaheed police station for investigation.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that cases have been registered against some people for possessing illegal weapons and drugs. “Our endeavor is to deal with the criminal elements with iron hands,” the spokesman added.
