LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday said that timely payment of taxes was a national obligation and its correct utilization was the responsibility of the state.
In his message on Tax Day, CM Buzdar said that taxation process was like a gateway to development and added that taxable people should play their role in national development by paying the taxes.
According to a statement issued from his office, the chief minister said that the purpose of observing this day was to raise public awareness about payment of taxes.

He said, “In the Naya Pakistan, national resources are being utilized with utmost care and honesty for public development.”
On the other hand, national resources were siphoned off during the previous tenures which impeded national development, the chief minister said and added that the plunders delayed the journey of development.
Usman Buzdar said that resources were being utilized prudently to provide better services to the people. “Today, we should reiterate the commitment that taxes will be paid honestly for the development and prosperity of the country,” the chief minister concluded.
