Beautiful Pakistan — Top 10 pictures from Wiki Loves Earth competition

The Wikimedia Foundation organized the Wiki Loves Earth contest which is aimed at documenting all of the world’s natural heritage under the free licence of Creative Commons. Finding pictures that are royalty-free and ones that do not contain copyrights or watermarks can be hard. Hence, the ‘Wikipedia Loves Northern Pakistan’ was organised as part of the global ‘Wiki Loves Earth’, to rectify this issue, according to the Foundation.

The 2015 edition of the competition has drawn over a hundred thousand picture submissions as well as 8,500 contestants have taken part. From Pakistan, the number of contestants who participated numbered 1500 who submitted around 11,000 photographs. This made Pakistan the second largest country as far as contestants were concerned and the fourth largest country in the submissions category.
