Top Five Shortest Lived Celebrity Marriages

In the world of celebrity where money for divorce settlements is far more forthcoming than in the real world, short lived marriages are not uncommon. But for some celebs, the ink is hardly dry on the marriage certificate before divorce proceedings have begun.

Here are just some of the shortest celebrity marriages to date!

5. Jennifer Lopez & Cris Judd

Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to a wedding dress, but go back to 2001, and following her split from Puff Daddy, she married her backing dancer Cris Judd. It turned out to be a passing fancy when the pair divorced just 218 days later.

4. Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries

If ever you wanted to scream at the telly and say “NO!!” then this was it. But despite the relationship going pear shaped before our eyes, the two still went ahead at a cost of $10 million in August 2011. But 72 days later it was over at the relief of the TV viewers who could now stop squirming at the awkwardness of a relationship in free fall.

3. Britney Spears & Jason Alexander

Remember 2004 and Britney’s meltdown? Well amongst all the other public displays of instability, was a Las Vegas wedding to childhood ‘friend’ Jason. It lasted an incredible 55 hours, with the popular opinion being that it was high jinx as opposed to high romance.

2. Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman

For a real quickie of a marriage, we go back to 1998 with Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman. With the annulment coming only 9 days after the Las Vegas ceremony, rumours of an alcohol fuelled decision weren’t helped by the fact the couple got hitched at 7 o’clock – in the morning.

1. Rudolph Valentino & Jean Acker

Before Brad Pitt ruled the world, there was Rudolph Valentino, with the name no coincidence. However, when he married Jean Acker in 1919, his reputation as a ladies man can’t have been helped that it lasted 6 hours…..yes, 6 hours. This may have been a lot to do with the fact that Acker’s interests lay more within the actress genre, and so the marriage was never consummated.
