CHAMAN: Tribesmen, traders, and activists of various political and religious parties staged protests in a number of cities, condemning US President Donald Trump’s statement against Pakistan.
Last week, Trump announced his much-awaited Afghan strategy, calling for deploying more troops in Afghanistan. He criticized “Pakistan for housing the very terrorists American are fighting in the war-torn country.”
In Chaman, a large number of people from all walks of life came together to protest Trump’s criticism of Pakistan and blocked the Pak-Afghan road, suspending vehicular traffic, including the vehicles carrying supplies for foreign troops stationed in Afghanistan.
Protesters carrying placards inscribed with slogans calling for protecting sovereignty and integrity of the country marched on the Peshawar-Torkham Highway and staged protest at the Torkham crossing along Pak-Afghan border.
People of Baluchistan’s Panjgur and Kohlu also took to the streets protesting the statement of US President Donald Trump against Pakistan.
Another protest rally was also taken out in Ghalanai, the headquarters of Mohmand Agency, today. Addressing the rally, tribal elders condemned the statement of US President Donald Trump against Pakistan. The speakers lauded the sacrifices of security forces to eliminate terrorists from the country.
Similar rallies were also taken out in Zhob, Dera Murad Jamali, Swat, Dera Bugti and Chagai. Bannu, Kurram Agency, and Kohat also witnessed the anti-Trump protests.
