TTP division led to increase in ransom across Pakistan, states WSJ

According to the report by WSJ, TTP has been divided into different groups and the militant organization is kidnapping financially well-off people to demand ransom for their funding.

It is also mentioned in the report that militants fled to other cities after Pakistan Army launched an offensive in North Waziristan. The report further states that ransom cases have increased in Islamabad after Karachi.

WSJ, in the report, has said that five persons were kidnapped for ransom in Islamabad in the last six months whereas nine people were kidnapped last year.
