Two former DCs involved in flood relief aid corruption: report

MATYARI: Two former deputy commissioners involved in Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway scam had also misappropriated flood relief amount, ARY News reported on Monday.

According to a special audit report of the Auditor General, a copy of which shared with ARY News, has disclosed that former DC Matyari district Adnan Rashid had misappropriated 45 million rupees from the relief amount for flood affected people.

“Former deputy commissioner Noshehro Feroz Tashfeen Alam had also drawn 35 million rupees from the flood relief account,” according to audit report.

“Both DCs drawn money in cash with open cheque,” report disclosed.

Former DC Matyari Adnan Rashid has already been arrested in the motorway corruption scandal, while former DC of Noshehro Feroz Tashfeen Alam, another accused in the motorway scam, has fled out of the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh and federal government had provided huge amount for relief of the victims of unprecedented floods last year.
