RAWALPINDI: Two hardcore terrorists belonging to the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were hanged in the high security prison in Sahiwal on Tuesday, said a statement by Inter Services Public Relations.
The convicts were tried by military courts and were found involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism including killing of civilians, attacking armed forces, law enforcement agencies, polio vaccination team and employees of a non-governmental organisation.
One of the terrorists, Muhammad Shahid Omar s/o Zaman Khan was an active member of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court and was awarded death sentence.
He was found involved in attacks on armed forces of Pakistan, law enforcement agencies, polio vaccination team, employees of a non-governmental organization and killing of civilians.
The other convict Fazl-e-Haq s/o Shahdad was also an active member of TTP responsible for the kidnapping and amputating hands of four police officials.
He was also involved in killing civilians and attacking law-enforcement agencies and killing civilian Abdul Wahab and police constable Saif-ur-Rehman. He was awarded death sentence after pleading guilty before the trial court.
