KARACHI: The Karachi police have arrested two more persons in a case pertaining to the Mehran Town factory fire that killed 17 workers.
The police produced factory supervisor Zafar and Rehan before the judicial magistrate (East). The investigation officer sought more time to submit the case challan.
The court approved his plea giving him five more days to submit the charge-sheet. The case was adjourned until Sept 23.
On Sept 7, a district and sessions court had dismissed bail pleas of three suspects in the case. The suspects included building owner Tariq Faisal, factory owner Ali Hassan Mehta and manager Imran Zaidi.
The labourers working for the factory had said that there was only one way to enter or exit the building and the blaze made it impossible to reach it.
