KARACHI: The alleged police encounter that took place on Friday night at Nipa Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal turns out to be ‘fake’. One Rangers school student was shot dead and his cousin was injured in the alleged encounter, ARY News reported.
Inspector General Police Sindh AD Khawaja has taken notice and directed transparent inquiry of the incident.
Police official sources said the two police officers involved in this incident have been taken into custody, while formal arrest will take place after investigation into the incident.
The sources said one of the two motorcycle riders was shot dead on suspicion of being a robber, while the other was injured.
A relative of the deceased, Waliullah, said Aziz and Ateeq were going to a tuition center and police signaled them to stop, which they could not follow because of speeding on which police opened fire on them. While, the injured, Aziz, said they could not see police mobile van standing in the dark.
The relative of Ateeq said after the firing incident police stole the deceased’s identity card of Rangers school.
