US to review Faizullah’s sentencing in Afghanistan: Jen Psaki

The Spokesperson of the US Department of State, Jen Psaki during weekly media briefing on Friday, told that the United States (US) is reviewing the sentencing of Faizullah Khan and it will issue further details in this regard, once all of the information is obtained on the matter.

She told that the Pakistani reporter was awarded a four years’ prison term, for mistakenly crossing the Pak-Afghan border.

The US official said that most of the journalists including the Americans travel without documents, in search of news putting their lives at great risk and everyone is aware of this fact.

An international journalist organization, Reporters Without Borders has also stated the same that there can be no borders set for journalists, while Faizullah Khan entered into Afghanistan by mistake, in the line of pursuing his professional responsibilities.
