US envoy Richard Olson calls on interior minister, army chief

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting with the army chief took place at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi where the figures discussed security situation in the region with a particular reference to Afghanistan. Olson appreciated Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism.

Earlier, Olson along with US Ambassador David Hale met with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, where they exchanged views on Pak-US bilateral relations. The US envoy appreciated the role of Pakistan in mediating the process for peace in Afghanistan.

The US representative also paid a call on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who apprised him of the reservations pertaining to the stalled sale of F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan.
