Varun Dhawan to surpass Salman Khan with Judwaa 2 success

Varun Dhawan is celebrating the immense success of Judwaa 2, the reboot of the Salman Khan starrer, which is turning out to be one of the biggest hits of 2017.

The film has benefited from having a solo release at the box office and has been able to entertain audience. While Judwaa 2 has received mixed reaction from the critics, the box office figures have a different story to narrate.

The reboot also starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu and is expected to cross Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. So far, since the day of its release, the film has done a business of Rs. 77.25 crore.

Varun, for the first time, played a double role in the film, which recreates the magic of Salman Khan film with the same title after two decades.  Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez characters are the new addition to the story.

dedicated the success of the film to his father. He said that Judwaa 2 is David Dhawan’s 44th film and he is happy as actor and son to be part of it. He thanked his co-stars and the audience for the immense love and support they are giving to the film.

The 30-year-old asked his fans to support him in the fight against piracy and watch the film in theaters only. “Please do not support piracy. If you love films please watch it through legal mediums. I’m a fan of cinema I urge all of you say #nopiracy,” he wrote.

Bollywood analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh said that Judwa 2 collected Rs75 crore marks since its release.

It also has an impressive opening weekend earnings of RS19.05 crore in overseas markets excluding Pakistan. This is higher than Varun’s Badrinath ki Dulhania and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB2.
