A video has emerged of an Indian Air Force helicopter crash that killed seven military personnel earlier this month, showing how the parachute tangled with its tail rotor before the deadly fall.
The crash happened on October 6 during a maintenance mission at an altitude of 17,000 feet in India’s Arunachal Pradesh.
The Mi-17 V5 chopper was on an air maintenance mission at an altitude of 17,000 feet when it crashed around 6 AM near Tawang. The helicopter was flying to Yangtse to drop off kerosene jerry cans at a forward Army camp, says the NDTV.
A helicopter cannot fly without a tail rotor and the Mi-17 V5 crashed moments later, the report said.
All seven people on board were killed in the crash.
The charred bodies of seven, including the pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer and two army officers, were found at the crash site close to the border with China.
