According to details, election tribunal announced its verdict after a hearing in Karachi on Saturday declaring PMLN’s Ghous Ali Shah successful from NA-215, Khairpur.
The tribunal had ordered for the recount of votes in the constituency almost a year ago.
Ghous Ali Shah, former president of PMLN Sindh chapter, had challenged the win of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member, Wasan Ali resulting from May-11 elections, last year.
The tribunal had sent 1,74,294 votes to NADRA for verification, out of which 99,752 votes were declared unidentifiable.
At this, the election tribunal after reviewing all the evidences and witnesses’ statements, invalidated Wasan Ali’s win and declared Ghous Ali Shah to be the successful candidate.
