Prime Video’s 'Vought Rising' shows off deadly new supes

Vought Rising, the upcoming spin-off from The Boys, has released the first promotional images featuring Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, along with other new superheroes.

The stills introduce new characters, including Mason Dye as Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel.

Returning to the franchise, Jensen Ackles is back as Soldier Boy, this time with an updated costume. Aya Cash also reprises her role as Stormfront.

The supporting cast features Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith. Vought Rising is set as a prequel to The Boys, telling the story of how the powerful corporation Vought International came to dominate.

The series is described as a twisted murder mystery set in the 1950s, offering a different tone and setting from the main show.

Ackles has expressed enthusiasm for playing Soldier Boy in this earlier timeline, alongside contemporaries rather than in the modern-day setting of The Boys.

The creative team behind Vought Rising is also expected to weave in themes that resonate with real-world events, something The Boys has become known for.

Fans of The Boys will be able to see a fresh perspective on the franchise when the spin-off arrives, combining new superhero characters with familiar faces in a retro backdrop.

Earlier, Jensen Ackles, known for his roles in hit series like Supernatural and The Boys, has given fans a major update about his character’s return in the new spinoff series Vought Rising.

Speaking at a recent convention in Michigan, Ackles revealed that Vought Rising will explore Soldier Boy’s early years, long before he became the hardened and gruff figure introduced in Season 3 of The Boys.

Jensen Ackles explained that Vought Rising will present his character from a different perspective, showing a more open and emotional side.
