A resident of a high-storey residential complex in Thailand cut the rope that was supporting two painters working on its 26th floor, according to a foreign news agency reported.
The report mentioned that the suspect seemed angry at not being told they would be working on that day. The labourers were rescued by a couple later.
A police officer, speaking with the media, mentioned that the woman is facing charges of attempted murder and property destruction.
THE FOOTAGE IS DISTURBING AND NOT SUITABLE FOR MINORS
Footage, which was making rounds on social media, sees the painters requesting the people living on the 26th floor to open the window and let them come in. A painter told the news agency that the colleagues lowered themselves from the 32nd floor to repair a crack.
They noticed that wires starting to get heavier and then saw a resident from the 21st floor cutting their rope with their window open.
They started asking their unit for help while another worker kept supporting them from the top floor, one of the rescuers said.
A report of the incident was filed by the police. She refused the allegations against her at first but confessed after the security cameras got checked and forensic tests were done.
The suspect refused to accept responsibility at first but the forensic test confirmed.
She stated that she had no intention of killing the worker.
