MQM Rabita Committee stated that Sindh Government is treating the city and its citizen as second rate citizens. The party claimed that water is being provided to the large scale projects that are being completed outskirts of the metropolis.
“The tanker mafia and illegal hydrants have devoured the water resources of the city,” MQM stated.
The party also stated that the provincial government is not paying attention despite the protest in the Sindh Assembly.
Central leaders, parliamentarians and councilors will attend the demonstration against water shortage.
Meanwhile, the routes from Shaheen Complex to Chief Minister House have been blocked due to security reasons.
It should be noted that water shortage has taken place many areas of the city including Malir, Model Colony, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Hasrat Mohani Society and Paposh.
Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) have not made any alternative arrangements to tackle the crisis. The citizens have to purchase high-priced water tankers to fulfill their requirements.
