Woman gives birth on Turkish Airlines flight

An Istanbul-bound Turkish Airlines welcomed one more passenger during a flight when a French woman gave birth to a baby girl on Friday.

The women named Diaby Nafi, who was 28 weeks pregnant, gave birth to ‘Kadiju’ with the help of the trained cabin crew.

The flight was on its way from Conakry, Guinea to the Turkish city when it made an emergency landing at Burkina Faso’s Ouagadougou airport to get the mother and newborn baby medical assistance before continuing on to Istanbul.

The woman has reportedly hold a French citizenship and developed labour pain shortly after the flight took off from the African country.

“The mother gave birth while standing, and we received help from several other passengers,” Bouthayna İnanır, one of the flight attendants who helped in the delivery told foreign newspaper, adding that, “The cabin crew chief cried tears of joy after the birth.”
