Xbox to host event to celebrate women in game industry

Xbox has announced the return of the Women in Gaming luncheon which will bring together over 350 women working in the game industry to connect and celebrate accomplishments.

The theme is “Be You” and is a celebration of everything women bring to the game industry. The event will be held on March 2, 2017 in San Francisco, and registration will be held from January 20 to February 3, 2017.

Xbox said that it is committed to empowering women and will host the biggest luncheon ever with women from across the gaming world. The company said that it will create a more inclusive event that allows to develop stronger connections.

The Women in Gaming team is also finalizing female speakers from the industry to tell their story and speak about the unique perspective they bring to their work.

Xbox is also giving 30 women either enrolled in college or less than two years’ industry experience the opportunity to attend the Game Developers conference.

The winners will also receive a ticket to the Women in Gaming luncheon, and mentoring and networking opportunities with leaders from Xbox and the game industry.
