Yash’s 'Toxic' crosses 13 crore in day 1 advance bookings; Karnataka leads nationwide demand

Advance tickets of Yash starrer action entertainer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups opened across the nation with tremendous bookings. With just five more days to go for the release of film on worldwide circuit, Day 1 advance ticket booking has already crossed over a mammoth, ₹13.19 cr of gross advance collection (includes blocked seats and taxes).

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, this film would be Yash’s big ticket back to the movie world post pan-India blockbuster film K.G.F: Chapter 2, which did tremendous collection for the opening day.

So far over 1.65 lakh tickets have been sold for opening day across the nation, his home state Karnataka accounted for major chunk of these ticket sales.

Here is a detailed state & circuit wise advance booking information provided by the box office tracker:

State-(₹): Karnataka 8.08 cr, Tamil Nadu 1.2 cr, Kerala 1.0 cr, North 0.8 cr and rest of regions have also reported high sales. Bengaluru itself took a gargantuan figure of 6.07 cr of booking from 648 shows.

For Kannada release more than 1.11 lakh tickets were sold taking the booking up to 5.12 cr at nearly 1,000 shows whereas the Hindi version has already received the highest ever advance gross figures of ₹2.08 cr by selling off more than 54,000 tickets at 5,880 shows.

However high end screens at most big centers in Mumbai like Jio World Drive is quoting for tickets even over ₹2,000.

Select shows in Forum Rex Walk, Bengaluru quoted ₹2,181 at top premium screens; Jio World Drive quoted ₹2,250; K.D.M.S. Mall, Chennai is priced at ₹1,600 on few screens whereas Forum Courtyard, Ahmedabad quoted ₹1,450 and Inox Swagatham, Kerala quoted ₹1,580.

Global traction & CBFC: Global sales has also passed a million “Interests” on ticket booking platform BookMyShow and has become only second Yash led film after his K.G.F: Chapter 2.

In the American regions, for opening days advance booking has already earned $163,000 at 260 locations in just first three hours of sales and for the film that is releasing on Dec, 12 The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), gave the actor his second ‘A’ rating from it after an initial review with zero cuts and requested some minor audio-visual revisions on technical grounds.
