KARACHI: An underage housemaid was allegedly tortured in the upscale Defence Housing Area of Karachi, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
The girl was employed at the house of Dr. Marium and was accused of stealing from her residence. Five people including Dr. Marium and the watchman brutally tortured her.
According to police, the young girl was also brandished with a hot iron and has several visible marks on her body.
Darakshan police have arrested five people including two women involved in the torture on the housemaid and have started further investigation.
The young girl has been shifted to hospital where medico-legal procedures will be completed.
Speaking to ARY News, the young girl said she was beaten and tortured since the last two days with a belt and knives. She said the brother-in-law of her employer burned her with an iron.
She said she was employed at their house since a long time. The employers without any reason tortured her for two days until she was rescued last night by her father and the police.
Sindh Minister Nasir Hussain Shah took notice of the incident and said that the culprit will be punished.
