Addressing a mass rally in Lyari, Asif Ali Zardari said that Lyari is still a stronghold of Peoples Party and he could see the affection of the people here.
“Lyari used to be a peaceful area but the remains of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf turned the town bloody,” he lamented. “People used to take refuge in Lyari, whenever the circumstances worsened in rest of the metropolis”.

Asif Ali Zardari said that Peoples Party always faced unfair treatment in elections, yet it came to contest the next elections with a renewed determination every time.
“And the skipper is raising hue and cry just because of a single election,” he said. “We never did the politics of five years, nor did we focus on winning or losing the polls.”
“We always thought of Pakistan’s future and its betterment,” the ex-president added.
Speaking about agreements with China, he said that this is all an outcome of Peoples Party’s initiative and assured that his party will not let these pacts politicized.
Zardari also vowed to ensure the rights of Baloch and Pashtun people regarding the Pak-China Economic Corridor.
He said that we know what is happening there in Kashmir and asked the Indian leadership to stop bothering the Kashmiri people.
