ISLAMABAD: Former president Asif Ali Zardari has called his arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) under corruption allegations as ” beauty of politics” in third world countries, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Talking informally in the courtroom here, People’s Party’s co-chairman questioned, “what (his arrest) will make any difference, in his absence Bilawal will be present, if Bilawal absent, Aseefa will be there.”
“My arrest is a pressure tactics. Anyone involved in politics, have to go to jail,” Asif Ali Zardari said.
Musharraf was not an elected representative, so he is not prepared to go to jail, Zardari said.
” I did question authority of the NAB chairman. As all (strings being pulled) by the government,” the PPP leader said.
“The selected prime minister doesn’t know anything. All is being orchestrated by the Minister of Interior,” former president claimed.
Zardari also condemned arrest of the leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly and PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz, who was arrested by the accountability bureau under corruption charges today.
It is pertinent to mention here that an accountability court today handed over former president Asif Ali Zardari to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on physical remand until June 21 for questioning in connection with its investigation into the fake bank accounts case.
