FAISALABAD: Minister for State Abid Sher Ali has lashed out on Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari for calling for the ouster of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after the Panama case verdict.
Calling Zardari as the ‘root cause of evil’ in Pakistan, he said that the head of a ‘corrupt mafia’ has the audacity to lecture us on corruption and the rule of law.
The state minister, a nephew of PM Sharif, said that Zardari deserves to be tried in a military court based on the revelations by Lyari gangster Uzair Baloch and former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza.

He demanded to place Zardari on the Exit Control List (ECL) warning that he might flee the country anytime.
“All the JITs (Joint investigation Teams) that have been formed in Sindh have called Zardari as the ringleader of criminals,” he said.
“Now the head of a corrupt mafia has the audacity to teach us ethics,” he continued adding that the PPP was very concerned when Ayaan Ali and Dr. Asim Hussain were placed on the ECL.
“Nawaz Sharif has never fled abroad unlike you,” he said questioning whether Zardari had offered his resignation after the case against the son of former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.
He claimed that Nawaz Sharif will sweep the next general elections in 2018, and will form the next government with a two-third majority, and will develop cities of Sindh like Punjab.
PPP reaction
PPP reacted to Abid Sher Ali’s remarks against their leader with the party’s Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira saying that he would only comment if a ‘sensible’ person makes a statement.
He said the government has no hindrance in forming any JIT, and the PPP has no objection placing Nawaz Sharif and Ayaan Ali in the same line.
PPP leader Maula Bux Chandio said that foul-mouth of Abid Sher Ali does not absolve that the premier from his wrongdoings, He said that the state minister was probably enraged and lost temper after reading the Panama case verdict.
