Zil-Hajj moon not sighted, Eid-ul-Azha on Sept 2

KARACHI: The Zil-Hajj crescent was not sighted on Tuesday evening in Pakistan, which means Eid-ul-Azha will be on September 2 (Saturday) this year, ARY News reported.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee met at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in Karachi. The meeting was chaired by Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

Meetings of all zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees were also held at their respective headquarters.

In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid ul-Azha falls on the 10th day of Zil-Hajj. Affluent Muslims who can afford, sacrifice best halal domestic animals usually a cow, but can also be a camel, goat, sheep, or ram.
