Accused moves IHC against indictment in Noor Mukadam murder case

ISLAMABAD: The parents of the prime accused Zahir Jaffer have moved to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the verdict of a trial court in the Noor Mukadam murder case, ARY News reported on Monday.

Zahir Jaffer’s parents have filed an appeal against the verdict of the trial court in the high court to challenge their indictment in the Noor Mukadam murder case.

In its appeal, the accused stated that the charges could not be framed on the desires of the investigation officer of the murder case. It further stated that the trial court’s verdict was against law and misuse of the powers.

The IHC has been pleaded to nullify the trial court’s October 14 verdict regarding their indictment in the murder case.

It is important to mention here that a trial court had indicted prime accused Zahir Jaffer, his parents Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee and nine others in the Noor Mukadam murder case on October 14.

The other accused against whom charges were framed included Zahir’s three household employees Iftikhar, Jan Muhammad and Jameel, Therapy Works CEO Dr Tahir Zahoor Ahmed and five of his employees.

All the accused denied the charges. The court had directed the prosecution to produce witnesses in the next hearing on October 20 to record their testimonies.
