KARACHI: Mother of Amal Umer, who was killed in Karachi during a police encounter, on Sunday said the Amal Bill which was passed by the Sindh government had nothing to do with police, ARY News reported.
Talking to ARY News programme ‘Sawal Ye Hai’, Beenish said when she inquired from the Sindh government about police, they said they had no authority over them in this regard. She wondered that how the government could have no authority against irresponsibility of police officials.
The mother said she had no knowledge whether police officials involved in firing on Amal got punishment or not.
“It hurts the most when your kid is killed by bullet of your own police,” she said.
Amal’s mother said the incident of killing of Ahsan by police happened after her daughter’s killing had occurred.

On March 28, the Supreme Court had sought report regarding implementation on recommendations of a commission formed to probe killing of Amal in Karachi by the police firing.
Advocate Faisal Siddique had represented the Amal’s family. He had said commission formed to probe the matter had released its report while Sindh government, police and the National Medical Center have also submitted their replies.
The lawyer had read out the recommendations given by the commission during the hearing.
