KARACHI: A six-member investigation committee on Wednesday submitted its report to the Supreme Court in a case pertaining to killing of girl, Amal, due to police fire, ARY News reported.
The probe found that lack of training on part of policemen caused the incident. The use of heavy weapons claimed life of the little girl, the investigation found.
It further said the National Medical Center (NMC) attempted to mislead the parents, and didn’t fulfill its prime responsibility.

The probe committee recommended that patrolling police shouldn’t have weapons like short machine guns (SMGs) to prevent such incidents in future. The investigators said police should only have hand guns or a pistol.
It is the need of the hour to train police officers, especially those deployed for patrolling, recommended the committee.
The committee was headed by Justice (retd) Khilji Arif.
Last year in August, Amal along with her parents was on way when she was hit by a bullet in her head while the robbers were robbing a car next to their vehicle.
Amal was rushed to the nearest hospital (National Medical Centre – NMC). The hospital gave oxygen to the injured girl by an Ambubag pumping manually. The doctor told them to shift her to another hospital.
The NMC neither provided them emergency medical aid, nor ambulance and even refused to give the Ambubag to help the injured reaching another hospital.
The family arranged another ambulance, however, Amal died on the way to the other hospital.
