RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a successful operation seizing more than 184 kilograms of drugs, leading to the arrest of five individuals, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The anti narcotic officials has initiated large scale operations against drug trafficking in different cities of the country. In all these operations, more than 184 kilograms of narcotics were recovered, and five suspects, including two Afghan nationals, have been apprehended.
As per ANF spokesperson, the first operation was conducted near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza where 22.8 kilograms of heroin were recovered from a vehicle. The heroin was concealed inside the CNG cylinder installed in the car. During this operation, a resident of Peshawar was arrested.

In another operation at GT Road near the Sangjani Toll Plaza, two kilograms of heroin and two kilograms of ICE (Methamphetamine) were seized from a vehicle hidden under the secret compartments of car bumper, leading to arrest two Afghan nationals traveling in the car.
During an operation on Hub River Road in Karachi, 22 kilograms of charas (hashish) were recovered from a parcel in a passenger bus. The parcel was booked from Chaman to Karachi.
Moreover, on the Ring Road in Peshawar, 32.4 kilograms of charas were seized from a truck. A resident of Khyber was arrested while attempting to smuggle narcotics from Bara to Karachi. Additionally, nine kilograms of charas were recovered, which were also hidden in Bara.
In another operation near the Sahiwal Interchange in Faisalabad, 70.8 kilograms of charas and 22.8 kilograms of opium were seized from a vehicle. The car had government number plates and was being used for drug smuggling. The resident of Peshawar traveling in the car was taken into custody by the authorities.
The ANF officials have stated that cases have been registered against all the suspects under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, and further investigations have been initiated.
