ATC removes terror charges from PTV attack case against Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has removed terrorism charges from PTV and parliament attack case  against the former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan, ARY News reported.

As per details, the Anti-Terrorism Court judge (ATC) Jawad Abbas Hassan announced the verdict.

The court removed terrorism charges from both the cases. The plea was filed by Naeem Haider Panjotha on behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

The case was sent to sessions court after removing the terror charges.

Earlier,

the federal government removed two special public prosecutors hired by the PTI government who allegedly supported the acquittal of former prime minister Imran Khan in the Parliament House attack case.

It is pertinent to mention here that on Sept 1, 2014, hundreds of protesters belonging to the PTI and PAT stormed the Parliament House and PTV headquarters and forced its staff to take two of the state broadcaster’s flagship channels — PTV News and PTV World — off the air.

The protesters were also charged with attacking government properties including the Parliament House building.
