QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan here on Friday ordered crackdown against profiteers and hoarders across the province, ARY News reported.
Mir Jam Kamal Khan said the deputy commissioners, commissioners of all districts and divisions would be responsible to keep vigilance on price hike in the markets.
The chief minister said that the government would take strict action against the people who were involved in profiteering.
He said, “The government will ensure provision of all essential commodities especially edible items to the consumers on reasonable rates during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.”
Jam Kamal also appealed the traders and businessmen to abstain from unjust practices and ensure constant provision of all edible items to the consumers on reasonable rates.

Earlier, former state minister for interior Shehryar Afridi, on April 18, had met the representatives of fruit and vegetable market association in Islamabad and directed them to keep rates of essential items minimal.
During a meeting, Afridi had said he would pay surprise visits to the market and shops, adding strict action will be taken if anyone was found overcharging and neglecting the government price list.
He had claimed that the government would ensure implementation of uniformed rates of all staple commodities.
