LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday congratulated the Hindu community on the their festival of Holi.
In his message on the eve of Holi, CM Buzdar said that the festival promoted the passions of brotherhood and friendship in the society.
According to a statement released from his office, CM Buzdar said that the festival also reflected the joys and happiness of life, love, affection and added that relations became stronger by celebrating the festival of happiness.
The chief minister said, “People belonging to different communities and religions are the citizens of Pakistan. It is sanguine that the Hindu community has played an important role in the development of the country with their hard work.”
He said that all the religious communities had complete religious freedom, protection and security in Pakistan. We should promote the message of love and affection by participating in each other’s happiness because it promotes tolerance and societal love in society, the chief minister concluded.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan had extended his wishes to the Hindu community on the festival of Holi, also known as the “Festival of Colours.”
“Wishing our Hindu community a very happy and peaceful Holi, the festival of colours,” tweeted the prime minister.
The Hindu citizens living across the country are celebrating the festival with traditional enthusiasm.
