Pakistan’s all-weather friend China has reiterated its resolve to welcome all positive measures towards reducing recent escalations between its strategic ally with India.
Spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Lu Kang during regular press briefing in Beijing on Monday said that China has been in close contact with both India and Pakistan and making efforts to promote peace and facilitate talks.
Lu Kang said that China has said multiple times that it hoped that India and Pakistan, as two important countries in South Asia, would enjoy good neighborliness and friendship and solve their issues through friendly consultations.
“China will continue to play a constructive role to help ease the situation and promote regional peace and stability,” the spokesperson added.
The situation between the neighbouring countries turned hostile in a tit-for-tat airstrikes following the Pulwama attack that killed over 40 Indian troops in occupied Kashmir on Feb 14.

In a response to Indian aggression of Feb 26 at the Line of Control, two fighter jets of Indian Air Force were shot down by Pakistan Air Force in broad day light on Feb 27.
Pakistan hit the Indian targets as a demonstration of its defense capability towards the Indian provocation, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said.
