Gold prices fall in local market

KARACHI: The per tola gold price on Monday registered a decrease of Rs 650 to Rs 109,850 in the domestic market, ARY News reported.

Sharing the price of the precious metal, All Pakistan Jewelers Manufacturers Association Chairman Muhammad Arshad said that the rate of 10 grams of the yellow metal decreased by Rs536 to Rs 94,200.

In the international market, gold prices edged higher on Monday as a softer dollar and a pullback in global equities lifted demand for the safe-haven metal, while investors awaited the Federal Reserve meeting for policy cues.

Spot gold was up 0.4% at $1,805.44 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures rose 0.3% to $1,807.60 per ounce.

In other metals, silver gained 0.5% to $25.29 per ounce, palladium rose 1.1% to $2,701.06 and platinum gained 0.3% to $1,064.13.
